Bill 21: Protecting Patients from Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct

With the recent implementation of Bill 21: Protecting Patients from Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct, under the terms of the HPA all Active Registrants are required to complete mandatory educational requirements prescribed by the Council for preventing and addressing sexual abuse of and sexual misconduct towards patients.  

The ACCLXT has developed an educational module “Understanding Bill 21: Protecting Patients From Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct”. Registrants are required to read the module and complete the quiz: Test Your Understanding.

Completion of this module and its quiz are mandatory for all ACCLXT Registrants and may be used as a Continuing Competency activity in either 2019/20 or 2020/21 Learning Plan. Refer to the table below for specifics. You must complete this Activity prior to January 31, 2020 regardless of which year Learning Plan you choose to use it. To receive a Certificate of Achivement you must achieve a 100% passing grade. 

Note: You must upload either the PDF of your results, or the Certificate of Achievement to your Learning Record as proof of completion. The ACCLXT will not be able to obtain this proof for you. If you have not saved the PDF or the Certificate you will need to complete the quiz and achieve a passing grade again.


 

 

 

 


Legislative/Regulation Document Review and Quizzes

The following is a set of 4 quizzes based on the Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, CLXT Profession Regulation and the Health Professions Act. This information is vital knowledge for all Registrants. Carefully review the information in each document understanding how it applies to you as a professional, and complete the associated quiz.

Bypass the screen that states " Cannot connect to server to record results" Hit "Continue" to move forward.

You MUST print off the certificate as your proof of completion for these activities.


Code of Ethics

Each Regulated member of the ACCLXT has a responsibility to be informed about their ethical obligations as Combined Lab and X-Ray Technologists. Please review the ACCLXT Code of Ethics and complete the following Code of Ethics quiz (10 questions).

You must score a minimum of 80% to pass the quiz, you have unlimited attempts and you will be able to print off a certificate once you have achieved a pass mark.


Standards of Practice

The ACCLXT Standards of Practice provide an overview of the minimum acceptable level of performance, practice and conduct that is expected from an entry level Combined Lab and X-Ray Technologist. It is each CLXT's duty to understand these standards and ensure they are practicing within these guidelines. Please review the Standards of Practice and complete the following Standards of Practice quiz (15 questions).

You must score a minimum of 80% to pass the quiz, you have unlimited attempts and you will be able to print off a certificate once you have achieved a pass mark.


CLXT Profession Regulation

The CLXT Profession Regulation is a document that outlines the rules concerning registration, practice permits, restricted activities and the use of titles. These rules have been created by the ACCLXT Council, in collaboration with allied health professions and Alberta Health and Wellness. Each Regulated member of the ACCLXT has a responsibility to understand the information in this document.

Please review the CLXT Profession Regulation and complete the Profession Regulation quiz (25 questions). (Note: the Regulation is currently under review and subject to change. This quiz will be updated once changes have been finalized and approved by the government).

You must score a minimum of 80% to pass the quiz, you have unlimited attempts and you will be able to print off a certificate once you have achieved a pass mark.


Health Professions Act

The Alberta Health Professions Act (HPA) is a legal document which describes how all Regulated health professions, in Alberta, must govern their members. Each member of the ACCLXT has a responsibility to understand this Act.

Please review the Health Professions Act and complete the HPA quiz (38 questions).

You must score a minimum of 80% to pass the quiz, you have unlimited attempts and you will be able to print off a certificate once you have achieved a pass mark.
